Evan sighed, rubbing a temple as she watched Pharoby. Her caution for this particular situation was starting to sway beneath anger at this "bear" person and his associates. "Why does he want us to 'visit' now?" Her tone was rather venomous on "visit".

"I don't know sis. I've never met this St Cyr person. I was assigned a project when I came up north and met you. I was to report the results of it in 6 months and never fully did. I was kind of indisposed then, if you remember. I kept getting payments though, although I haven't spent any of it." Pharoby pushed her plate off to the side and poured herself some more coffee. "You never wanted to hear about my life before and I respected that. Now it's being shoved down our throats."

"No kidding. I have to wonder why this person wants me there." Evan paused a moment, "What do you think we should do about this?"

"My instincts say to go and see what he wants" Pharoby stood up, grabbed the tab and paid for their breakfast. "Let's go sleep on this." She smiled lightly at Evan.

She nodded in agreement. The drive back was fast, this early most of the traffic was semi's. Soon Evan had parked the car and unlocked the door, yawning frequently. As soon as Pharoby's bags were inside, she headed to her room after a mumbled "Goodnight." to Pharoby.

Pharoby headed to her room and took a long hot shower. Evan took the news well of her past, with her expected reactions. But she didn't ask any questions. Wrapping a towel around her red locks, Pharoby turned on her computer and checked her email, for the first time in two weeks. Nothing but spam and requests for study sessions. She downloaded all her research for her "legal" business in Brazil, set the alarm for 8 am and crawled under the covers. She had to report to her professor in the morning of her results.

Evan opened an eye with a groan when her alarm clock uttered it's irritating beeping. The illuminated time was 6 am. She growled, moving a hand around for the sleep button. "Must've forgotten to reset...ugg" A few seconds passed before the beeping stopped and she stared at the ceiling, waiting to go back to sleep. After fifteen minutes of nothing but white drywall Evan got up with a sigh.
After an hour, most of her frustration was drying on canvas in the corner; the odor of the paint fumes drifting out her open window. It was a nature scene. The colors were swirled around each other, making it rather fluid looking. Evan finished her scrutinization; she'd take it to the studio after it dried completely.
After a quiet shower she went to the kitchen and made herself some tea, thinking over this St Cyr visit. She spent almost an hour and came to one conclusion. The one option that had the best, and worst, possibilities was the one Pharoby had stated last night.

The insistant beeping of the alarm clock finally woke Pharoby up after several minutes. She groggily looked at it, the numbers dancing in the early morning sunlight that was streaming through her window and groaned. At least she was not in Brazil, where she'd've been up for several hours already before the afternoon heat sent everybody scurrying for a napping place. She sat on the side of the bed, rubbing her eyes, trying to decide if she was hungry again or not. She decided she wasn't and got dressed. She headed straight for the coffee pot and fixed it to make 10 cups. That should be enough to wake her before she faced her professor. She jumped when she realized that Evan was sitting there at the table. "oh, morning, Evan."

It had been amusing to see Pharoby be the one to jump for once. "Morning Pharoby." She yawned, the heavenly aroma of brewing coffee perfuming the room. Great, caffiene cravings. Might as well kick them now rather than later. She thought as she itched at her shoulder idly. "Keep an eye out for the gangs with the red bandannas when you go out. They're not too happy right now."

"Oh?" Pharoby arched her eyebrows as she looked over at Evan. "And what did you do with your shoulder?" She reached for the bread to pop into the toaster.

Evan rolled her eyes, "I didn't do anything with my shoulder, except move it." She sighed, "Got cornered by some gang idiots. Partly of my own stupidity."

Pharoby was over to Evan's side in a flash. "Let me check it. I felt it yesterday when we were talking and was wondering about it."

Evan made a sharp mental note to herself to keep her mouth shut under a tight sheild. "I didn't mean to do that." She looked a little sheepish as she rolled up a sleeve a little and unwound the canary yellow vet wrap and gauze, revealing a mostly healed cut with a bit of red around the edges from her itching. "No big deal, just itchy."

Pharoby studied the wound carefully. Evan was acting strange about it. Luckily it looked like it was healing properly, so she didn't worry much more about it. Her toast popped up and she grabbed that and poured a 2nd cup of coffee for herself. She wave the pot at Evan to see if she wanted more. "I've got to get my results in to my professor this morning. Do you have any plans later today? I was thinking of grabbing takeout and some movies and we have a night in. All this travelling has wearied me."

Evan shook her head at the coffee pot, rebandaging the shoulder more as a reminder not to itch at it than anything else. "No thanks." She watched Pharoby a little closer after her last sentence, concerned. "I don't have anything planned out of the usual today, movies sound great." Evan grinned, then sobered. "You feeling okay?"
