"I'm fine. Just all the traveling and excitement," Pharoby said lightly. She shoved the toast down, swallowed the rest of her coffee, pecked Evan on the check and ran back to her room. She grabbed her laptop and backpack, and waved bye to Evan on her way out the front door. Pharoby was wanting to get her appointment with her professor over and done with and be able to relax for a few days, without any moving boat or airplane beneath her feet. She loved going to Brazil, but hated the the short trips like that. She much preferred a more relaxing time at a slow pace to do it...She grimaced to herself as she remembered the set of tickets in her drawer. That was another story entirely!

Evan waved back, getting to her feet after Pharoby shut the door. She washed the empty tea mug and grabbed her school things from her room, taking an alternate route to the campus this morning. Evan loosened up; ignoring the small headache in her temples. For once she didn't rush and took the time to appreciate the bustle around her. After all, in a week who knew what would happen?

Pharoby endured the long grilling from her professor with sheer patience. She answered all the questions and wrote out the examples using the portuguese. Finally the professor dismissed her, asking her to bring all of the examples in a week and to compile a dictionary in the meantime. Pharoby remembered her trip planned for the next week and apologized in advance for it. The professer smilled and agreed to wait a month for the dictionary.
Pharoby all but ran out of the office. She walked over to the video store and picked up two videos. Then she headed to the house and ordered both pizza and japanese food, including sushi, which she hadn't had in months. She put the food in the almost empty fridge when it arrived and laid down for a nap until Evan got home.

After the class was let out Evan stopped at a small grocery and picked up some popcorn and a few chocolate bars, head nearly spinning with psychology theory as she walked home. She knew Pharoby would probably be asleep, tired as she was, so Evan made sure to be quiet as she unburdened herself of the books and laptop in her room. She left the popcorn in the kitchen, and took a few asprin for her headache, sitting at the table while she waited for them to take affect.
Thankfully the wait wasn't long before the horses with tap shoes quit practicing dressage moves through her head. The sky was heading towards dark when she regretfully decided to wake Pharoby. Evan knocked on Pharoby's door, "Hey sis, time to wake up."

Pharoby jumped clear off the bed and landed on the floor in a tangle of sheets and pillows when she heard the knock on the door, her hands automatically reaching for one of her throwing knifes, that thankfully for Evan, was nowhere near Pharoby. Even without practice she was still deadly accurate with them. She leaned her head and calmed herself down when she recognized her surroundings. "Alright, sis! We're even now!"
She was surprised to see the sunset from her window as she stood up and stretched. She rubbed her eyes and opened the door, smiling broadly. "There's food in the fridge that we just need to warm up, and some sushi too."

Evan couldn't help but laugh when she heard Pharoby's reaction, a slight feeling of deja vu accompanying it. She grinned in response to Pharoby's smile and winked, "Ah, food!"
Soon enough the pizza, sushi and a variety of other Japanese food was either warmed or left cold. "Table or trays?"

"Trays. I don't think I could handle a real chair tonight. I picked up "Big Trouble in Little China" and a romance." Pharoby got a pitcher and put ice in it and made some sweet tea. She grabbed two glasses and headed over to the couch. She stuck the first dvd in and threw the remote on the couch and helped bring food in. "I was still quite hungry," she said sheepishly as she looked over the food, which was enough for about 6 people.

Evan chuckled, setting the last plate down before she squeezed in behind the trays and took a seat on the couch. "I guess so." Amazingly her energy was holding out. She waited until Pharoby was seated, and then looked around for the remote, only to find she had been sitting on it. Smiling a little cheesily she pushed play, digging into the food with an appetite.

Pharoby ate ravinously for the first half hour of the movie. She pushed the tray back with a contented grunt and reached to refill her tea. She fidgeted with the sweat on the glass for several minutes.

Evan had been watching Pharoby out of the corner of her eye after a minute or two of her fidgeting. Finally Evan turned slightly, facing her with slightly raised eyebrows. She was a little tired of dancing around the edges of all this. "What is it?"

Pharoby sighed when Evan asked that. She grabbed the remote and paused the movie. She really didn't want to have this conversation, but Evan deserved to know what they could be up for.
"Remember when we first met, how out of it I was?"

Evan nodded, wondering just how serious this conversation would be. "Yeah."

"I never did tell you why I was so dependent on the demerol...I had just finished about 6 months of intense work in Brazil, traveling all over with the Bear. He would make the initial contact with the family and ascertain who the one was who had the deeds to the farm or estate. Then I'd get sent in, kind the eye candy, to make sure the deeds were signed over to me or the Bear." Pharoby quickly swallowed some tea to keep her voice steady.
"Then as soon as the ink was dry so to speak, it was my job to take out that person and get out of there without anybody knowing it was me that had just killed their grandfather or uncle. I had every weapon and poison at my disposal, as well as my mind tricks. I was d**n good at it too. I had families scared of the 'periwinkle blue' ghost. Until the last family that I stayed with. The five year old daughter slipped in and saw me."

Shalimar arrived at the Sanctuary after a long day. They had to get back somme kind of weapon and the mission was kinda hard. She was happy that she could rest a little. She took a shower and then she went to check her email.

Evan didn’t know exactly how to react at first; this was something of a shock. Then the onslaught of emotion hit her and she paled a little, stiffening where she sat. No wonder Pharoby had been so addicted to the narcotic; it was amazing she wasn’t crazy. Evan briefly wondered if that was the case before she dismissed it; Pharoby was just as sane as anyone else. She couldn’t stand being around insane people, no matter what illusion they presented on the surface they unnerved her.
The toll of 250 began to make sense. Evan wasn’t going to condemn her sister, she would always be there for her, but she wasn’t going to say what she had done was okay and ignore it either.
