Ok, let's get this role play started.
The current Doctor Who was in trouble. He had gotten two distress signals at the same time on Earth, the North American continent, and at two different times. He sighed. He could only choose one to go to at a time. There wasn't time to pick and choose. He picked the later signal.
The Tardis materialized in the middle of an explosion, rocking wildly. Doctor Who was knocked senseless by some falling debris briefly. He came too and remembered what he was supposed to do. He peared out cautiously. There was a middle aged gentleman tied to a chair, slumped over. Doctor Who ran over, untied him and dragged him back into the Tardis, barely. A second explosion ripped the building as the Tardis dematerialized, just in the nick of time.
The middle aged gentleman was still out. Doctor Who carried him down to the med-bay to check his injuries. Then the Doctor realized his injuries were much worse than he first thought. He dragged himself to his zero room and collapsed.
Elsewhere on Galifrey
"Sir, the situation with the Doctor on Earth is serious. What should we do? We need him to complete his mission!" The young acolyte was screaming at his master.
The old master smiled and shook his head. "Young one, the Doctor always comes through in the end." He nodded at the screen. "His replacement is already there."
"But, but, that one has had no training in the Time Lord principles."
"He will learn in time. His personal expertise outweighs the TimeLord protocol this time. This new Doctor is needed!"
Back in the Tardis
The current, and slowly dying Doctor Who looked weakly upon the other one. His replacement. Somehow he knew that. He just had to stay alive long enough to pass the codes along. He certainly hoped the TimeLords of Galifrey knew what they were doing with choosing this replacement.
He crawled over to the man and shooke him. "Hey, wake up!" He waited a few minutes and shook him again, a little harder. "WAKE UP NOW!"
The middle aged man opened his eyes in confusion.
